Liverpool could take a significant step toward the title with a victory over the Magpies, a team that hasn't won in 24 consecutive visits to Anfield, a record stretching back to 1994.

LIVERPOOL: THE BEST TEAM AT HOME

Liverpool is on an accelerated march toward their first title in five years, and the first one they can celebrate with their fans after their 2020 title under Jürgen Klopp couldn't be celebrated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liverpool now finds themselves leading 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League with 12 games left to play, with their only loss this season coming at home to Nottingham Forest last September.

Liverpool boast the best attack in the league, with 64 goals scored, and the second-best defence, having conceded just 26 times. The latest match saw them comfortably beat Manchester City 2-0. Out of the 12 home games they've played, eight have ended with more than 2.5 goals, including all of the last five.

The team is mostly injury-free, with only Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley on the sidelines, although neither of them would typically be starters in Arne Slot’s lineup.

NEWCASTLE: COMING OFF SEVEN HIGH-SCORING GAMES

Newcastle sit fifth in the Premier League with 44 points, tied with Manchester City, and are in the running for a spot in next season's Champions League. The club has been on a strong run recently, particularly away, where they’ve accumulated 21 points. However, they are up against the league’s best home team this season in Liverpool, who have taken 29 out of 36 possible points at Anfield.

Newcastle have been a goal-scoring machine in recent rounds, with the last seven games all featuring over 2.5 goals, inclduing their most recent match, a thrilling 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest. This game has all the makings of another high-scoring affair, with Mo Salah leading the league's top scorers with 25 goals, while Alexander Isak is second with 19 goals for Newcastle this season.

Out of 13 away games, nine of Newcastle’s matches have seen over 2.5 goals, including four of their last five. They will be without Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton, while another central defender, Sven Botman, is doubtful for this match.

Betting Suggestions:

  1. Over 2.5 Goals in the Match: Given both teams' recent high-scoring form, this is a promising option. With Liverpool scoring heavily at home and Newcastle's attack firing on all cylinders, a match with more than 2.5 goals looks likely.
  2. Liverpool to Win: Liverpool's dominant home form, coupled with Newcastle's struggles at Anfield, suggests a strong possibility of a home win.
  3. Both Teams to Score (BTTS): Considering both teams' offensive firepower and their recent goal-scoring records, it’s likely that both sides will find the back of the net.
  4. Mo Salah to Score Anytime: The Egyptian King is in top form and is always a threat at Anfield. Backing Salah to score anytime is a solid choice for this match.
