Best bets for Royal Ascot - Day Five

Published

It's the last day of the Royal Ascot Festival and Tipstrr's racing experts have not relented in their quest to give the best value bets from Saturday's card.

14:30 Norfolk Stakes

  • Race details: 5 furlongs, Group 2
  • 2025 winner: Charles Darwin (8/13F) - Ryan Moore (J), Aidan O’Brien (T)

Best bet: CARRY THE FLAG

advised by Top of the Day

  • Aidan O’Brien looks on course to be crowned top trainer for the week, and he appears to have a great chance of registering his fifth success with Carry The Flag in Saturday’s opener. A winner at Naas in early May, this promising colt actually looked sharper at Curragh a month ago when finishing second behind Great Barrier Reef, who has since gone on to land this week’s Coventry Stakes.

Most popular each-way tip: THROUGH THE YEARS

advised and previewed by Bookies Enemy No1

  • Wesley Ward saddles all three of the fillies in this renewal, all of whom won last time, with Through The Years the only one to do so on turf, which was firm going over 5.5f, so this would surely put her in a better position for tackling what is sure to be a strongly-run race over the minimum trip. This trainer and jockey combination finished Friday in winning style with Bacia and will be looking to hit the ground running here.

Next-best each-way bet: WHERE LOVE LIES

advised by Thoroughbred Insights

  • Two wins from two starts has left connections of Where Love Lies expecting another bold run from their Cotal Glory colt. He carries a similar strong form line to the favourite, having seen off the challenge of this week’s Coventry runner-up Adaay Of Scarlett when last seen at the Curragh three weeks ago.

15:05 Hardwicke Stakes

  • Race details: 1 mile 4 furlongs, Group 2
  • 2025 winner: Rebel’s Romance (6/4F) - William Buick (J), Charlie Appleby (T)

Most popular tip: JAN BRUEGHEL

advised by Thoroughbred Insights

  • This has all the hallmarks of a face-off between early market leaders Kalpana and Jan Brueghel, and our tipsters fancy the latter to add another Ascot success to the O’Brien/Moore partnership. Although unable to defend his Coronation Cup crown at Epsom a fortnight ago, he had won the ormonde Stakes at Chester in impressive style a month earlier, and the likely pace of this race should play into his hands.

Best each-way bet: ETHICAL DIAMOND

advised by Tippyman

  • Willie Mullins has three runners in the Queen Alexandra Stakes later in the afternoon, but as his only runner in this race, Ethical Diamond has caught the collective eye of our each-way specialists. Last year’s success in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes here was the first of three wins that included the Breeders’ Cup Turf, and although things didn’t go to plan on his season debut in April, he should be primed to make his presence known among the principals.

15:40 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes

  • Race details: 6 furlongs, Group 1
  • 2025 winner: Lazzat (9/2) - James Doyle (J), J Reynier (T)

Most popular each-way tip: LAKE FOREST

advised by Equine Logic

  • Although winless in 2025, Lake Forest showed his quality when finishing a close-up second in a couple of big races at Goodwood and York. Being reunited with Cieren Fallon did the trick on his season debut six weeks ago, with Lake Forest easing home by five lengths, and Fallon gets the nod again to make today’s drop in trip look very interesting.

Outsider punt: KIND OF BLUE

advised by Hipodrom Elite

  • Kind Of Blue bounced back from a winless 2025 campaign with a promising runner-up finish in last month’s Minster Stakes at York. He was the notable winner of the Champions Sprint over this course and distance in 2024, and the booking of William Buick can only boost his chances of replicating that performance here.

************************************************************************************************************

16:20 Jersey Stakes

  • Race details: 7 furlongs, Group 3
  • 2025 winner: Noble Champion (25/1) - Kieran Shoemark (J), Ed Walker (T)

Popular each-way tip: THESECRETADVERSARY

advised by GalopeTips

  • After finishing second on his first three outings in 2025, Thesecretadversary opened his account at Tipperary last August and confirmed his quality by winning on season debut at Leopardstown in April. Although found wanting in the English and Irish 1000 Guineas, he should find more joy at this level, while the drop in trip should also work in his favour.

Next-best each-way bet: NEOLITHIC

advised by Singles Land

  • Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore have enjoyed another successful festival, so Neolithic looks hard to resist here at such a tempting price. The colt has two wins to his name, and was far from disgraced when finishing third behind Causeway (winner of Friday’s King Edward VII Stakes) last time out at the Curragh in early May.

17:00 Wokingham Handicap Stakes

  • Race details: 6 furlongs, Handicap
  • 2025 winner: Get It (28/1) - Seamie Heffernan (J), George Baker (T)

Most popular each-way tip: REALIGN

advised by Turf Outsider

  • With only one of the last dozen Wokingham winners coming from the top three in the betting, we’re looking for each-way value, kicking off with the William Haggas-trained Realign, who enjoyed two good wins in 2025, and notched up another victory at the second attempt this term. That success has earned him a 5lb penalty, but that shouldn’t prevent another bold run here.

Next-best each-way bet: SONDAD

advised by Nicky John Sang

  • Two wins and four frame finishes marked a successful 2025 campaign for Sondad, and the five-year-old bounced back from a disappointing season debut to defend his Tokyo Trophy crown at the Epsom Derby meeting two weeks ago. Clearly in top nick and Ascot’s fast ground should suit.

Outsider punt: MITBAAHY

advised by Active Betting Hub

  • The bare form of Mitbaahy might not set the pulse racing, but a recent operation should hopefully put his breathing issues behind him. Aided by a first-time tongue strap, not to mention the notable presence of Billy Loughnane at the reins, this Charlie Hills-trained seven-year-old could yet outrace his hefty odds.

************************************************************************************************************

17:35 Golden Gates Stakes

  • Race details: 1 mile 2 furlongs, Handicap
  • 2025 winner: Quai De Bethune (12/1) - Oisin Murphy (J), Andrew Balding (T)

Most popular tip: SAHARA KING

advised by Tippyman

  • Jockey James Doyle rode two winners on Thursday and could complete a Festival hat-trick on Sahara King, who sports first-time cheek-pieces here. Richard Hannon’s colt is strongly fancied to turn the tables on repping Lost Boys and Evanesco, who finished ahead of Sahara King at Newmarket and Newbury respectively last month.

Best each-way bet: SPYCE

advised by Top of the Tips

  • At tastier odds, Spyce looks to have the ability to take advantage of a favourable draw. Alan King’s colt was far from disgraced last time out when he finished strongly to finish a decent fourth behind Lost Boys and Sahara King in the London Gold Cup at Newbury. Might get even closer this time.

************************************************************************************************************

18:10 Queen Alexandra Stakes

  • Race details: 2 miles 6 furlongs
  • 2025 winner: Sober (4/5F) - Ryan Moore (J), Willie Mullins (J)

Most popular tip: LE DESTRIER

advised by Top of the Day

  • While Aidan O’Brien’s Illinois is the early market leader, Le Destrier is strongly fancied to give Willie Mullin another taste of Royal Ascot glory. After almost two years away from the track, this seven-year-old gave a glimpse of his potential when finishing just over a length behind Gold Cup winner Scandinavia at the Curragh five weeks ago, and that form puts him right in the mix here.

Best each-way bet: MAXI KING

advised by TheBanker

  • Still unexposed as a stayer, Maxi King had no problem lasting 2¼ miles when finishing a half-length runner-up in the Chester Cup on his only 2026 outing six weeks ago. Should any or all of the principals falter, then this honest six-year-old could be ready to gatecrash the party.
