Beat Sav Premier League prediction competition - final round-up

Published

At the end of the Premier League season, we're pleased to announce the final scores of our popular Beat Sav competition

The curtain came down on another compelling Premier League season with the final set of fixtures producing a goalfest on Sunday afternoon.

As Manchester City did what they needed to do to clinch their fourth straight title (yawn, yawn), it was another case of what might have been for Arsenal, while Jurgen Klopp said a fond farewell to the Anfield faithful.

With most games playing out as expected, there were some top performances from our weekly leaders, with Samoya Fisher and Fiona Dixon showing the way with an impressive 15 points apiece

We should also give an honourable mention to our friends in the TeamTalk office, who were the only entrant to call all 10 match results correctly, albeit with just one Correct Score to make up their 12-point tally.

Planet Sport's football ambassador Robbie Savage called Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Bournemouth correctly, but just half a dozen other correct outcomes meant his solid 9-point return was beaten by 37% of our weekly participants.

WEEK 30 TOP SCORES

  1. 15 pts Samoya Fisher (4 correct scores + 3 results
  2. 15 pts Fiona Dixon (3 correct scores + 6 results)
  3. 14 pts Dennis Hill (3 correct scores + 5 results)
  4. 14 pts Damien Wilkinson (4 correct scores + 2 results)
  5. 13 pts 5 entrants

FINAL TEAM SCORES

  1. 204 pts Tipstrr (6th overall, 28 correct scores + 120 results)
  2. 188 pts Robbie Savage (9th overall, 23 correct scores, + 119 results)

  4. 159 pts TeamTALK (37th overall, 14 correct scores + 117 results)
  5. 145 pts Football365 (56th overall, 16 correct scores + 97 results)

Two of our teams finished in the overall top ten, with your Tipstrr team grabbing sixth spot, three places ahead of Robbie Savage, so it can be safely said that we ‘Beat Sav!’.

Our overall winner was Neil McQuillan, whose 8-point tally in the final round proved just enough to hold off the challenge of runner-up Sam Jones, who scored 10 points on the final day but came up just a point shy of Neil’s winning 224-point haul.
