Beat Sav in our weekend Premier League Prediction Competition

Published

Can you beat Planet Sport football ambassador Robbie Savage in this week's edition of our Premier League prediction competition?

With so many Premier League teams on FA Cup duty this weekend, we’re left with a depleted fixture list for the latest round of Planet Sport’s Beat Sav competition.

There was some more good scoring at the top end of the leaderboard, headed by Ronald Cox who called three correct scores (Man Utd 2 Everton 0, Palace 1 Luton 1, and Arsenal 2 Brentford 1) along with another five match outcomes to compile a tidy 14 points.

That was exactly double the score achieved by Planet’s Sport’s football ambassador Robbie Savage, who managed to call one correct score (Brighton 1 Forest 0) plus four other match results to give him a 7-point tally that was beaten by 25% of last week’s entrants.

WEEK 20 TOP SCORES

  1. 14 pts Ronald Cox (3 correct scores, + 5 match results)
  2. 13 pts Maria Dolan (4 correct scores, + 5 match results)
  3. 13 pts James Bucknell (4 correct scores, + 1 match result)
  4. 13 pts Anthony Jennings (3 correct scores, + 4 match results)
  5. 12 pts 5 entrants

Week 21 predictions

The predictions of the five teams are listed below, so if you think you can do better, then just visit the competition page to enter your own predictions.

Burnley v Brentford

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 1-2
  • Planet Sport: 2-2
  • TEAMtalk: 2-3
  • Football365: 2-1

Time is running out for Burnley to start closing the 11-point gap that separates them from top-flight safety, and with tougher games to come, this will be seen as a must-win match against a struggling Brentford team that has been edging ever closer to the relegation precipice after picking up just ten points from their last 17 league games (W3, D1, L13).

Latest Betting:

  • 9/1 Correct Score 2-1
  • 21/10 Burnley win

LutonTown v Nottingham Forest

  • Tipstrr: 1-2
  • Robbie: 3-2
  • Planet Sport: 1-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 1-1

This has relegation six-pointer written all over it, with these two teams looking the most likely candidates to occupy the third relegation spot alongside the seemingly doomed Burnley and Sheffield United. Luton showed their fighting spirit to grab a stoppage-time equaliser at Crystal Palace on Saturday, while Forest slipped to a third straight league defeat when losing to the only goal of the game at Brighton, and have now won just one in eight in the league.

Latest Betting:

  • 8/1 Correct Score 1-2
  • 11/8 Forest win

Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur

  • Tipstrr: 1-3
  • Robbie: 2-2
  • Planet Sport: 1-3
  • TEAMtalk: 1-3
  • Football365: 1-3

Fulham continue to do just enough to keep the relegation wolves from the door, although ironically it was at Wolves that they suffered only their second defeat in seven league games at the weekend. They will hope not to be so wasteful in front of goal, as they will probably need to score at least twice against a Spurs team who have found the net in every league game this season, and have scored at least twice in each of their last six away games, including four without reply in last week’s impressive win at Villa Park.

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 1-3
  • 21/20 Spurs win

West Ham United v Aston Villa

  • Tipstrr: 1-2
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-3
  • TEAMtalk: 2-2
  • Football365: 0-2

While the wheels appear to have fallen off Villa’s home form, they have turned things around on their travels, winning each of their last three away games and scoring 10 goals in the process. Meanwhile, West Ham had to scrap all the way to grab a late point off struggling Burnley, and with both teams having been in European action on Thursday, we’re seeing Villa bouncing back higher to edge a tight game to keep their top four ambitions alive.

Latest Betting:

  • 8/1 Correct Score 1-2
  • 11/8 Aston Villa win

All betting prices provided by Planet Sport Bet and were correct at the time of writing.
