The return of Premier League football saw some impressive performances from some of Planet Sport’s Beat Sav competition entrants, especially our weekend winner Sam Jones, who managed to call no fewer than five Correct Scores from the ten games to head our leaderboard with a tasty 18-point haul.
That proved too much for Planet’s Sport’s football ambassador Robbie Savage, who did manage to predict a couple of Correct Scores himself, but his 8-point tally was still worse than 27% of last week’s entrants.

Newcastle Utd v Everton
- Tipstrr: 2-0
- Robbie: 2-0
- Planet Sport: 3-1
- TEAMtalk: 2-1
- Football365: x-x
With just five drawn points from their last 12 league games, there seems no end in sight for Everton’s dismal run of form, and things won’t get any easier at St James’s Park, where Newcastle have banged in 13 goals in their last four home league games, crowned by Saturday’s dramatic 4-3 comeback win against West Ham.
- 10/1 Correct Score 2-0
- 20/21 Newcastle win
Nottingham Forest v Fulham
- Tipstrr: 2-1
- Robbie: 1-1
- Planet Sport: 1-2
- TEAMtalk: 1-3
- Football365: x-x
Even without their 4-point deduction, Forest have slid into the relegation quagmire after winning just one of their last ten games, although two straight battling draws should give them hope against a Fulham side that was put to the sword by struggling Sheffield Utd on Saturday, and could count themselves lucky to have scored two late goals to salvage a 3-3 draw.
- 8/1 Correct Score 2-1
- 6/4 Forest win
Bournemouth v Crystal Palace
- Tipstrr: 3-1
- Robbie: 2-1
- Planet Sport: 2-1
- TEAMtalk: 1-1
- Football365: x-x
Bournemouth have made the most kind run of fixtures against struggling teams, picking up three wins and a draw from their last four games, and they will fancy their chances of picking up more points against a Crystal Palace team that blows hot and cold, having own just one of their last seven league games, although they have also only lost one of their last five.
- 12/1 Correct Score 3-1
- 17/20 Bournemouth win
Burnley v Wolves
- Tipstrr: 2-0
- Robbie: 1-0
- Planet Sport: 0-2
- TEAMtalk: 2-1
- Football365: x-x
It might be too little too late, but Burnley are battling to the end of this troubled campaign, perfectly illustrated by Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Chelsea, where they levelled twice despite being down to 10 men. More of the same could extend their three-game unbeaten run Wolves, who performed like a mid-table side with little to played for in Saturday’s 2-0 reversal at Aston Villa.
- 14/1 Correct Score 2-0
- 7/4 Burnley win
West Ham Utd v Tottenham Hotspur
- Tipstrr: 2-3
- Robbie: 2-1
- Planet Sport: 1-3
- TEAMtalk: 3-2
- Football365: x-x
Having been unbeaten in four league games, West Ham will be kicking themselves for squandering a 3-1 advantage to lose 4-3 at Newcastle on Saturday. They will be tested further here by London neighbours Spurs, who themselves stumbled to a 2-1 comeback win against Luton, but who will give the home defence plenty to think about here.
- 14/1 Correct Score 2-3
- 11/10 Spurs win
Arsenal v Luton Town
- Tipstrr: 4-0
- Robbie: 4-0
- Planet Sport: 4-0
- TEAMtalk: 5-1
- Football365: x-x
Arsenal’s free-scoring eight-game winning streak ended on Sunday, but they will see their goalless draw at Manchester City very much as a point gained, and they should have a more productive time in front of goal against a Luton Town side that has conceded 30 goals in ten winless league games (D3, L7) and have not kept a clean sheet on their travels all season.
- 17/2 Correct Score 4-0
- 1/8 Arsenal win
Brentford v Brighton
- Tipstrr: 1-2
- Robbie: 2-1
- Planet Sport: 1-2
- TEAMtalk: 2-1
- Football365: x-x
Two wins and two draws in their last 16 league games has put Brentford on the fringes of the relegation dogfight, and despite showing some character to grab a late equaliser against Manchester United on Saturday, they look likely to have their work cut out against a more enterprising Brighton side..
- 8/1 Correct Score 1-2
- 6/4 Brighton win
Manchester City v Aston Villa
- Tipstrr: 3-0
- Robbie: 3-1
- Planet Sport: 2-1
- TEAMtalk: 3-1
- Football365: x-x
Manchester City’s goal-scoring prowess has deserted them a little of late, having scored more than one goal in just one of their last six league games. Villa are unbeaten in their last five away league games, but can expect that record to be put under pressure against the champions, who are unlikely to draw another blanks after being held to a goalless draw by Arsenal on Sunday.
- 8/1 Correct Score 3-0
- 1/4 Manchester City win
Liverpool v Sheffield Utd
- Tipstrr: 5-0
- Robbie: 4-0
- Planet Sport: 4-0
- TEAMtalk: 4-0
- Football365: x-x
Of Liverpool’s last ten visitors, only Manchester City have managed to concede fewer than two goals as the Reds have banged in 33 goals in nine wins either side of that 1-1 draw. Sheffield United’s main objective is likely to be damage limitation, but if they concede early, then the Blades’ defence could be in for a very long night.
- 10/1 Correct Score 5-0
- 1/12 Liverpool win
Chelsea v Manchester Utd
- Tipstrr: 1-1
- Robbie: 2-1
- Planet Sport: 2-2
- TEAMtalk: 2-2
- Football365: x-x
Chelsea have scored at least twice in each of their last five competitive games, but won’t be happy about letting 10-man Burnley off the hook in Saturday’s 2-2 draw, especially after twice taking the lead. They will need to up their game for the arrival of Manchester United, but with both stumbling heavyweights struggling for consistent potency, we expect this encounter to end all square.
- 7/1 Correct Score 1-1
- 14/5 Draw
