Beat Sav in this weekend's Premier League Prediction Competition

Published

Can you beat Planet Sport football ambassador Robbie Savage in the latest round of our Premier League prediction competition?

The penultimate weekend of the Premier League season means we only have a couple of chances left to be part of Planet Sport’s Beat Sav prediction competition, so if you want to be involved make sure you submit your weekend entries before the lunch-time kick-off between Fulham and Manchester City gets under way at 12.30pm on Saturday May 11th.

Entry remains dead easy and completely free, and all details can be found here

Points were at a premium for most of us, but a few entrants still managed to build a decent score last weekend, but none more so than joint winners Michael Thompson and Kathryn Senior, who managed to call five Correct Scores between them as part of their respective 12-point tallies.

Not for the first time, that was comfortably more than Planet Sport's football ambassador Robbie Savage, who managed to call seven of the 10 match outcomes correctly for a 7-point tally that was beaten by 32% of our weekend entrants.

WEEK 28 TOP SCORES

  1. 12 pts Michael Thompson (3 correct scores, + 3 match results)
  2. 12 pts Kathryn Senior (2 correct scores, + 6 match results)
  3. 11 pts 8 entrants

Week 29 predictions

The predictions of the five teams are listed below, so if you think you can do better, then just visit the competition page to enter your own predictions.

Fulham v Manchester City

  • Tipstrr: 0-4
  • Robbie: 0-2
  • Planet Sport: 1-4
  • TEAMtalk: 1-3
  • Football365: 0-3

Just one win in seven and a gradual slide into mid-table obscurity does not bode well for Fulham as they entertain rampant title-chasers, Manchester City, who are unbeaten in 20 league games (W16, D4) and have scored four or more goals in five of their last six straight EPL victories.

Latest Betting:

  • 11/1 Correct Score 0-4
  • 2/9 Man City win

Bournemouth v Brentford

  • Tipstrr: 3-1
  • Robbie: 1-0
  • Planet Sport: 3-0
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 3-0

Bournemouth are enjoying their best ever Premier League campaign and have been particularly impressive at home, winning 7 and drawing 4 of their last 13 (losing only to Liverpool and Manchester City). Brentford have lost just one of their last seven league games (albeit only winning twice), but might come undone as the Cherries look to sign off their home campaign in style.

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 3-1
  • 20/21 Bournemouth win

Everton v Sheffield Utd

  • Tipstrr: 2-0
  • Robbie: 2-0
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-0
  • Football365: 2-1

With both of these teams’ respective fates already decided, there is only pride at stake here, but Everton will be looking to give their home fans something to cheer about in their last home game against a relegated Sheffield Utd team that has been in disarray recently and already has one eye on next term’s Championship campaign.

Latest Betting:

  • 13/2 Correct Score 2-0
  • 2/5 Everton win

Newcastle Utd v Brighton

  • Tipstrr: 4-1
  • Robbie: 3-1
  • Planet Sport: 3-3
  • TEAMtalk: 3-1
  • Football365: 2-0

Five wins and a draw in their last seven games has seen Newcastle surge into the battle for Europa League qualification, and the way they have banged in 13 goals in their last 3 wins suggests they will have too much in the locker for a Brighton side that has lost 7 of their last 12 away games, winning only at rock-bottom Sheffield Utd in that time.

Latest Betting:

  • 16/1 Correct Score 4-1
  • 4/7 Newcastle win

Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley

  • Tipstrr: 2-0
  • Robbie: 3-0
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 3-1

Spurs have lost 4 straight games for the first time in their Premier League history, albeit against strong opposition, and they will be looking to get back to winning ways against a Burnley side whose recent revival appears to have run out of steam after last weekend’s heavy 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle.

Latest Betting:

  • 10/1 Correct Score 2-0
  • 3/10 Spurs win

West Ham Utd v Luton Town

  • Tipstrr: 3-0
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-3
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 5-1

West Ham’s early-season promise has evaporated into mid-table misery after winning just one of their last nine league games, and also just one of their last nine home games. They have conceded 12 goals in their last three outings, which should give some home to Luton Town, who have to win both of their last two games to have any chance of avoiding the drop.

Latest Betting:

  • 16/1 Correct Score 3-0
  • 3/4 West Ham win

Wolves v Crystal Palace

  • Tipstrr: 1-2
  • Robbie: 2-3
  • Planet Sport: 1-2
  • TEAMtalk: 1-3
  • Football365: 1-2

Wolves’ last 8 league games have yielded just a single win against Luton Town, and they could be in for another difficult afternoon against the resurgent Eagles, whose five-game unbeaten run saw them claim the scalps of Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle even before Monday night’s impressive 4-0 dismantling of Manchester Utd.

Latest Betting:

  • 8/1 Correct Score 1-2
  • 7/5 Palace win

Nottingham Forest v Chelsea

  • Tipstrr: 1-3
  • Robbie: 1-2
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 1-2
  • Football365: 2-3

Forest did the required business with Saturday’s 3-1 win at already relegated Sheffield Utd, and their own top-flight status could already be assured if Luton fail to win earlier in the afternoon. Either way, however, they will do well to get anything out of in-form Chelsea, who will be boosted after seeing off Londo rivals Spurs (2-0) and West Ham (5-0) in the space of three days.

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 1-3
  • 20/21 Chelsea win

Manchester Utd v Arsenal

  • Tipstrr: 1-3
  • Robbie: 1-3
  • Planet Sport: 1-3
  • TEAMtalk: 1-3
  • Football365: 0-2

Injury-ravaged Manchester Utd have only beaten Everton and Sheffield Utd in their last 10 league games, and their woes were not helped by Monday’s humbling 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace. Their shortcomings are likely to be exploited by title-chasing Arsenal, who have recently rediscovered their goalscoring mojo, finding the net 13 times in four straight wins over the last couple of weeks.

Latest Betting:

  • 8/1 Correct Score 1-3
  • 4/11 Arsenal win

Aston Villa v Liverpool

  • Tipstrr: 2-4
  • Robbie: 2-2
  • Planet Sport: 2-2
  • TEAMtalk: 2-2
  • Football365: 2-1

Aston Villa will be hoping that their UEFA Conference League exploits do not not ultimately cost them their top-four ambitions, and they will be hard-pushed by a Liverpool team free of title-chasing pressure and looking to give manager Jurgen Klopp a decent send-off for his final Premier League away game.

Latest Betting:

  • 20/1 Correct Score 2-4
  • 4/6 Liverpool win
