The results are in! Here's how our tipsters fared...
This is a really competitive G2 novice hurdle contest at Warwick but I’m going to take a chance on Archie Watson’s Stag Horn here. This horse was a five time flat winner up to 18f and was once a 9.5l 4th to Stradivarius in the G3 Sagaro at Ascot. The 5yo reverted to hurdles at Hereford lto, getting off the mark at the first attempt in this sphere. He largely jumped really well out in front and the 2nd has won since. Obviously this race will demand more but given this well bred flat stayer was rated up to 108 on the level, we’re probably looking at a horse capable of running to about 150 in this code. He’s clearly entitled to the immediate step up in grade and he could take some beating here. He has also been gelded since that Hereford victory and that often unlocks further improvement and softer ground today will definitely suit as he relished the mud in the long distance flat races he competed in.
