About Jumping4Profit

I am an experienced and successful horse racing punter with a big passion for the Jumps scene and will only be putting up tips for the NH Season in UK & Ireland on this account.

All tips will be advised at 5 or 10 points Win or EW with the understanding that points equal currency here. So a 5 point win is equal to a £5 win. Of course people may to choose to increase or even lower their stakes here and that is fine but so long as you are consistent with those stakes and stick to it.

I advise a starting betting bank here of £250 as no matter who you are there will be days when we lose money be it through calling a race wrong or simply just through bad luck. And that is fine because the goal here is to make long-term profit. A betting bank, being conistent, not chasing losses and just being overall disciplined are just some of the key elements here and as long as you follow these essential rules we will do just fine on here. As ever please tweet me at @jumping4profit if you have any questions about any of this.

Most tips on here will be singles although from time to time I will be advising mutltiple such as doubles when I feel it's worth it. These will usually be horses who are too short a price to back as singles but whose chances I'm very confident about.

Daily Review - 06/12/2016

From now on I will try and post a daily review on my selections for the day and if anything else springs to mind.

I thought today was tricky enough from a punting perspective and the only one I really fancied at odds worth taking was Return Flight who did the job for us at an advised price of 5/2. He looked the likely winner from a long way out making all and jumping well with the rest of the field gradually coming off the bridle. He'll no doubt be hit by the handicapper for it but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go in again on ideally better ground.

Nothing much else to say about today expect it's nice to have two consecutive days where the only selection wins. On quick glance tomorrow looks another tricky affair but I will do my best to find some value later tonight.

Another day of profit

I didn't get around to adding a post yesterday so best address that first:

Things didn't go to well with Endeavor tiring two out when looking like holding a decent chance and the double was down on the first leg when our selection fell when ready to make his move. Automated was next and he looked like snearking a place at a nice price of 20/1 for us but was beaten to the line to finish one out of the places. A day to forget really as we ended the day 25 points down.

Onto today and I only fancied the one horse strongly and it won well at a nice advised price of 11/2. I thought the handicapper had been lenient with his opening chase mark and so it proved so yesterday's loss was made up for and some more.

I havent looked at tomorrow's cards yet but I'm sure there will be at least one tip up before the morning is out.

A tough but profitable day

Well today always promised to be an ultra-competitive day for punting and that was the case. There was some great racing to watch though with the Tingle Creek the highlight and Un De Sceaux proved his class and also his toughness by outbattling Sire De Grugy at the finish.

As for our selections, it couldn't have got off to a worse start with Turn Over Sivola very disappointing and he was never in the race being held up. His jumping was very sloppy and because of that he just couldn't get going and he looks one to avoid in future.

Next up it was Indian Voyage who was backed into favourite before the off and looked like the winner jumping the last after a sloppy jump by his main rival. Frustrating for us it wasn't enough and he was gunned down near the line to leave us with two losses at the time. To say I was a little annoyed at the time is an understatement.

As De Mee was the last pick and thankfully he obliged with a lovely jumping performance and winning like a well handicapped horse should do. Sean Bowen rode him handy and gave him a lovely ride which ensured a nice 8/1 winner for us (he went off at 4/1).

That last winner ensured we end the day with a nice +30 points profit which I will take on a Saturday as tough as this. Now onto tomorrow where are three cards including a really card at Fairyhouse. Tips will go on tonight.

A Nice Start

Hi,

This is my first of many blog posts on this profile and it does feel like a fresh start (in more than one way brrr...!!!) with it being the first day of December.

I started this profile on November 21st with the intention of a 20 tips trial under a new routine of form study before deciding whether to continue or not. I'm pleased to say that I'm happy enough with the start that I now intend to carry on with this profile after a lot of adjustments from my old routine. Those 20 tips resulted in a 12.5 points profit with a 31% ROI which I won't complain about.

As for this profile there will be some days where there just isn't a nice bet to be found and on those days I will leave it as I won't be forcing things on here but I do plan on putting at least one tip every day providing I've had sufficent time and preparation to study.

As you can see from my two tips today, all tips going forward will be at 5 or 10 points EW or Win. In the past I have tended to stick with 1 or 2 points but I'm sure people appreciate the ease of equating points to currency so tips will be advised accordingly. For example If I advise a 10 point Win then it's a £10 Win.

Obviously people can decide to up their stakes if they like but as long as they're consistent with those stakes the end result should be the same which is hopefully to make long-term profit. And of course long-term is the key word there....I may put up the odd multiple now and again but these bets won't be a regular occurence and they'll only be for horses I feel are too short for singles but very confident in their chances.

Anyway, a lot is explained on my intro page so onto today's selections:

Canny Tom was the first one and that was disappointing as I expected him to at least place here after his recent run, especially on last week's performance which saw him well handicapped. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and turning for home you could see while he was up with the pace he was working harder than most. He finished 6th or 7th at the end so no result for us there.

The second tip She's Late fared much better and could have been called the winner a long way out. As I predicted he was the one most likely to appreciate the quick conditions today and that proved to be the case despite the horse being a tricky enough ride. I'm not sure he's one to stick with now he's going to go up in the handicap as he's not the most consistent but we'll see.

So that's it for today but always good to start the month in profit and hopefully that will continue in what should be an excellent month of racing with the King George on Boxing Day one of the many highlights.

All the best,

Mark
