Beat Sav in this weekend's Premier League Prediction Competition

Published

Can you beat Planet Sport football ambassador Robbie Savage in this weekend edition of our Premier League prediction competition?

After the craziness of the last couple of action-packed weeks, this weekend regular 10-game Premier League weekend seems sedately pedestrian in comparison, giving us until the lunchtime clash between Newcastle and Tottenham kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday April 13 to get our entries in.

Entry remains dead easy and completely free, and all details can be found here

The last of those three back-back rounds produced some top performances, spearheaded by Corneliu Hutanu, who managed to predict 8 of the 10 match outcomes correctly, including 4 Correct Scores to end up with an impressive 16-point tally.

It was also a better week for Planet Sport's football ambassador Robbie Savage, who managed to include a couple of correct scores himself in a decent 10-point haul that was beaten by just 10 of our weekend entrants.

WEEK 24 TOP SCORES

Week 25 predictions

The predictions of the five teams are listed below, so if you think you can do better, then just visit the competition page to enter your own predictions.

Newcastle Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-2
  • TEAMtalk: 3-2
  • Football365: 2-2

Newcastle have lost just two of their last ten league games, and are unbeaten in five at home (W2, D3), treating the St James’s Park faithful to 14 goals along the way. Spurs have won one of their last six away games, and have conceded 12 in their other five (D3, L2), and they will be hard-pushed to keep the Magpies quiet in front of their own fans.

Latest Betting:

  • 17/2 Correct Score 2-1
  • 8/5 Newcastle win

Brentford vs Sheffield Utd

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 2-0
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 1-1

Brentford have won just three of their last 21 league games, but have stopped the bleeding a little with three straight draws. The Bees will be looking to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom three by seeing off bottom-placed Sheffield United, who have also fought hard to draw three of their last four, but are running out of games in their almost inevitable return to the second tier.

Latest Betting:

  • 7/1 Correct Score 2-1
  • 4/11 Brentford win

Burnley vs Brighton

  • Tipstrr: 1-0
  • Robbie: 1-0
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 1-2
  • Football365:0-2

Burnley have battled bravely over the last month, but their four-game unbeaten run ended with their 1-0 reversal in Saturday’s must-win game at Everton. The Clarets are running out of games, but could keep their dwindling survival hopes alive against a Brighton side who were outclassed by Arsenal last weekend and have won just one of their last six league games.

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 1-0
  • 5/2 Burnley win

Manchester City vs Luton Town

  • Tipstrr: 5-0
  • Robbie: 5-0
  • Planet Sport: 6-0
  • TEAMtalk: 5-1
  • Football365: 3-0

Luton ended a 10-game winless run with a late comeback win over Bournemouth last week, but this visit to the Etihad could prove to be a damage limitation exercise if Manchester City continue their late title charge in the same manner that saw them put four goals past both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace in their last two league games.

Latest Betting:

  • 9/1 Correct Score 5-0
  • 1/14 Man City win

Nottingham Forest vs Wolves

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 1-2
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 2-1

After three unbeaten games, Forest had their chances at Spurs on Sunday before slipping to a 3-1 defeat that means only goal difference keeps them out of the bottom three. They will need to bounce back quickly and will hope that inconsistent Wolves might be stuck in that late-season mid-table comfort zone that can produce lacklustre performances.

Latest Betting:

  • 8/1 Correct Score 2-1
  • 13/10 Forest win

Bournemouth vs Manchester Utd

  • Tipstrr: 1-2
  • Robbie: 1-3
  • Planet Sport: 2-3
  • TEAMtalk: 1-2
  • Football365: 0-2

Bournemouth’s recent run of four wins and a draw came to a sudden halt with last weekend’s 2-1 reversal at Luton, and they will have their hands full against United, who showed glimpses of their spirit and capabilities in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool just three days after their dramatic last-gasp 4-3 defeat at Chelsea.

Latest Betting:

  • 17/2 Correct Score 1-2
  • 29/20 Man Utd win

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

  • Tipstrr: 4-1
  • Robbie: 2-0
  • Planet Sport: 3-0
  • TEAMtalk: 3-0
  • Football365: 2-1

After Sunday’s wasteful 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, Liverpool’s title hopes are no longer in their own hands, so they’ll be looking to make a statement in this home game against Palace, who are winless in ten games on the road since November (D4, L6) and were put to the sword at home to Manchester City last Saturday.

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 4-1
  • 2/9 Liverpool win

West Ham Utd vs Fulham

  • Tipstrr: 3-1
  • Robbie: 1-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-0
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 1-1

West Ham have lost just one of their last seven games (a last-gasp 4-3 defeat at Newcastle) and were good value for last week’s 2-1 comeback win at Wolves. They should have too much in their locker for Fulham, who have won just one of their last 15 away games, the last two of which saw them concede three goals at relegation strugglers Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Utd.

Latest Betting:

  • 14/1 Correct Score 3-1
  • 5/4 West Ham win

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

  • Tipstrr: 4-1
  • Robbie: 3-1
  • Planet Sport: 4-1
  • TEAMtalk: 3-1
  • Football365: 4-0

Arsenal now have their title hopes in their own hands, and they couldn’t have done much more since the turn of the year than bang in 38 goals in ten wins that were interrupted by their priceless 0-0 draw at Manchester City. They should enjoy more success against a stumbling Villa side who won just one of their last five games and have conceded seven goals in their last two games against Manchester City (1-4) and Brentford (3-3).

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 4-1
  • 1/4 Arsenal win

Chelsea vs Everton

  • Tipstrr: 1-1
  • Robbie: 1-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 2-0

Chelsea’s last seven competitive games have produced a total of 35 goals, with both teams scoring at least twice in all of them (four wins and three 2-2 draws). That pattern might change with the arrival of Everton, who haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their last eight outings, while Saturday’s 1-0 win over Burnley suggests they will be happy with a low-scoring draw at Stamford Bridge.

Latest Betting:

  • 15/2 Correct Score 1-1
  • 16/5 Draw
